NTUU "KPI" became the leader of the National Academic ranking of 2016. With significant separation from other universities Ukraine NTU "KPI" came forward for the criterion "Innovative activity of universities.".
The second place took the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The third and fourth places in Kharkiv universities - National University Karazin and the National Technical University 'Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute'. In fifth place was the National University "Lviv Polytechnic".
